The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office issued an alert on Monday, June 13, as they attempt to locate Terrance Kenneth Yancey, 22, who has been identified as a suspect in an ongoing homicide investigation on Lyons Creek Road in Dunkirk.
According to the sheriff’s office, investigators were called to the area of Rivershore Drive and Overlook Court in Dunkirk at approximately 6 a.m. on Monday, June 13 to investigate a reported homicide.
It is believed that Yancey was implicated in the death of at least one person, though details of the initial investigation have not been released by officials.
Yancey was later identified as a suspect and investigators said he is considered armed and dangerous.
In an update at approximately 3 p.m. on Monday afternoon, the Calvert County Sheriff's Office reported that they believe Yancey fled the area, and that "there is no immediate danger to the citizens of The Shores of Calvert."
"There will be continuing police activity for the next several hours in the area of Lyons Creek in Dunkirk," a spokesperson for the sheriff's office said. "There is an active warrant for the homicide suspect, Terrance Kenneth Yancey."
No other information was released by the sheriff’s office as the investigation continues.
